Welcome to the CPSnet Web Awards, for sites skies above!
Resuming normal operation: Applications are now open again. Due to the current delay in our reviews, applications from 2005-20-11 will only be evaluated next January 2006. We apologise for this inconvenience and we thank you for your understanding!
The purpose of this award program is to reward the work of those webmasters (and site owners and authors) who strive to build a better Internet, those persons that, by giving their best, most of the time for nothing in return except the personal satisfaction of an excellent work done, will allow us to, among so many other things, continue using the web for our personal development, our children's and our own education and to attain a better quality of life as well as a new level of knowledge and consciousness.
We express our sincere gratitude to these persons with our awards: Thank you for your work towards a better Internet and Mankind...
"One of the saddest lines in the world is, 'Oh come now - be realistic.' The best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic. They were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them horses to ride." - Richard Nelson Bolles
Technically, our awards have the sole purpose of rewarding outstanding, flawless and sound web design as well as excellence in content, in its educational, cultural, scientific and recreational intention.
The evaluation of a web site is certainly not an exact science. Individual preferences and user experiences play a role in the appreciation. Also, specific evaluation criteria must always be considered in terms of how it relates to the purpose of the web site and the desired audience requirements.
There are other web awards. Most of them seek to reward web excellence. But every award seeker must be aware that every award program has its own character, its own philosophy and its own objective. Winning a top award from one award program does not constitute a guarantee that all the other award programs, no matter how rated they are, will evaluate the same site with the same results. Therefore, a serious award seeker should study carefully every single award program before applying for it.
Make yourself familiar with our scoring procedure... use our criteria sections (namely our scoring procedures) as checklists and review your website in an honest and lucid way.
We strongly recommend you to check the requirements to browse and how to use this website. In there you will find important information about how we have handled accessibility and cross-browser compatibility issues in our pages. You can also use UsableNet's LIFT Text Transcoder Demo to browse this website in text-only mode. We have also developed our own text-only script that is available in every page (the "text-version" link).

"Genius is only the power of making continuous efforts. The line between failure and success is so fine that we scarcely know when we pass it; so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it." - Elbert Hubbard
